So Susan Cosmetics Haul + Swatches

I recently received a few So Susan Cosmetics Lip Love bags in the mail (I guess they didn't forward to my new address until now) and it was one of the sweetest surprises! So Susan Cosmetics is a cosmetic brand that focuses on how beauty and science can come together to formulate makeup that can also be good for your skin, as opposed to just being a cover-up for imperfections. Their line is vegan, cruelty-free, non-comedogenic, and is always free of mineral oil, parabens, phthalates, and gluten.

So Susan Cosmetics also offers a monthly subscription service, called their Lip Love bags. Each bag is $21/month, and comes with 4 or more full-sized beauty products from either So Susan Cosmetics, Trifle Cosmetics, or Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics, and a limited edition makeup bag (which I love to repurpose!).

So Susan lippies are one of my favorite products from their line; the colors are so smooth and buildable, and they would fit a wide range of skin tones.

Trifle Cosmetics Lip Parfait - Summer Cone ($18.95) - A lip treatment and lipstick in one. The smooth, buttery formula is infused with cocoa butter to keep lips hydrated all day long. Made with silicon-coated color pigments so the color is never dull or feathery, and lips look refreshed, hydrated, and super soft. This is a really soft, warm toned red, and is bold yet subtle enough for everyday wear.

So Susan Cosmetics LipoPout - Cats ($18.95) - A beautiful, strong fuchsia that's easy to wear and brightens up every skin tone. This is perfect for pale skin tones, since it has a lovely blend of pink and blue tones, but I think it would work for any skin tone.

Trifle Cosmetics Lip Parfait - Guilty Pug ($18.95) - This is a beautiful burnt sienna brown, and while I don't normally wear browns, this looks beautifully subtle and warm against my pale skin. Plus, I love the packaging!

Skin Salvation - Skin Mattifying Primer & Perfecting Luminizer ($27.95) - A multitasking super palette that provides a weightless, mattifying primer on one side and a silky luminizer on the other to provide a light-diffusing glow. The primer can be used under makeup as an oil-free base to absorb oil and eliminate shine without leaving a powdery trace behind. The primer goes on completely invisible, and does an amazing job of eliminating shine. I do find that if you layer it on too thickly, it can look a bit cake-y, so I make sure to apply a thin layer under my makeup (mostly on my t-zone) to control oil in those areas. The luminizer is a very wet formula (definitely a cream highlighter) and is a bit sparkly, so if that's not your thing, I would pass this one up. I LOVE looking sparkly, so this works for me.

So Susan Cosmetics Creme Couture Soft Focus Cream Blush ($16) - A soft focus cream blush with Wrinkle Relief Complex. It's oil-free texture ensures long-term wear, and provides an airy, ethereal glow. This subtle, orange blush is powdered with a proprietary Wrinkle Relief Complex, containing a blend of 55% Argireline and 45% Matrixyl 3000. These two peptides work synergistically to restore and maintain the skin's youthful appearance for short and long-term improvement in the appearance of wrinkles. I like this blush because being so fair skinned, I already have a natural pinkness to my skin, so it's nice to have my cheeks be anything but pink. It's incredibly subtle, matte, and very buildable, and gives a warm, summery glow to my cheeks.

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics Omni Blush - Creamy Powder Blush in "Celestial" ($17.95) - A universal, illuminizing blush in a unique cream-powder texture that ensures long lasting wear of up to 12 hours. Infused with a subtle warm rose undertone for a natural looking to highlight your complexion and make cheekbones pop. This is a really beautiful rose colored blush that makes my skin look so much more lively and rejuvenated if I'm lacking some color in my cheeks. It's also a bit shimmery, but once again, I enjoy shimmery blushes so it works for me.

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics Supercharged Super Intense Eyeshadow Duo ($22.95) - A super intense gold and black eyeshadow duo formulated in a proprietary cream-powder concentrated base that allows for extreme long wear and maximum pigment focus with zero fallout. These colors are really, honestly gorgeous; the black is smooth, buildable, and in some lights looks purplish/blue. The gold is very fine, shimmery, and has a buttery formula that goes on like a dream. Before I tried these out, I was a little miffed that a single eye shadow duo could cost $23, but the colors truly are pigmented and long lasting, and there actually is little to no fallout. Love!

Trifle Cosmetics Marshmallow Skin Mineral Foundation SPF15 ($18.95) - An innovative, powerful multitasker that acts as a light foundation, primer, moisturizer, and sunscreen to give you natural looking, youthful skin. Worn alone, this mineral foundation provides light-to-medium, buildable coverage while helping to brighten skin tone. Alternatively, you can dust this on top of foundation to add extra moisture protection and keep skin looking fresh and radiant. This is just light enough for my skin tone, and gives my skin a warm, healthy, shine-free glow. I'll probably keep this for use during the summer when I'm tanner, but as it stands, this does provide silky smooth, light/medium coverage and helps manage shine.

Trifle Cosmetics Lip & Cheek Jam ($22.95) - A water-based lip and cheek jam that provides a sweet, healthy, natural flush of color that lasts for 10 hours. This is mostly water based (78%), and is 99% natural. This is probably one of my least favorite products from Trifle Cosmetics. The dropper is hard to work with, and it's difficult to even get product into the dropper itself. It doesn't do much in terms of pigment on neither my cheeks nor my lips, and seems to disappear when applied as a blush. And I have pale, NC10 skin. It does provide a slight shimmer effect, but it's not worth purchasing in my opinion, as Trifle has so many blushes that are gorgeously pigmented.

So Susan Cosmetics Luminaire Creamy Stick Illuminator in "Twilight" ($19.95) - A creamy stick illuminator that you blend onto cheekbones and brow bones to instantly bring out the luminosity of your skin. It can also be used as a light, neutral eye shadow. This is one of my favorite, everyday highlighters - it has a subtle, glow-from-within effect that makes my skin look dewy and radiant. It's also perfect for inner corners, and does work nicely as a natural-looking eye shadow to help my eyes look awake and rejuvenated.

So Susan Cosmetics Statement Skin Highlighter in "Candle Light" ($20) - I have received so many of these Statement Skin highlighters from So Susan Cosmetics over the years, and I can see why! An instant remedy to lifeless, lackluster complexions, it adds a glow of radiance to your skin. It's made with a chiseled head to cover large areas of the face, or target pinpoint ones (like the cupid's bow) without using a brush. It's formulated with organic chia seed to help keep skin softly hydrated and silk peptide to promote skin suppleness and elasticity. I love my Statement Skins, the chiseled head is actually incredibly useful, and they give my skin a subtle, radiant glow. Yas.

Overall, I'm a huge fan of my Lip Love monthly bags, and So Susan Cosmetics in general. At first glance, these products don't look like much, even if the packaging is absolutely adorable. But inside the cutesy packaging are products that are expertly formulated and gentle on skin, while providing incredible pigmentation and elegant wear. I also love the fact that they're vegan/cruelty-free!
