Kloverbox July 2015 Review & Unboxing!

Hey lovelies!  It's the end of another month and the end of another semester for me. I'm so excited to be finished, I'm so close to getting my AA! Just one more exam to go. Anyway, moving on! This month's Kloverbox finally came (they tend to come really late in the month) and I was so ecstatic, because Kloverbox is has to be one of my favorite subscriptions! They're a natural/organic subscription service, and I've been trying to be healthier in all aspects of my life, and that involves keeping the environment healthy too! 

What is Kloverbox?

Kloverbox is an all natural, eco-friendly subscription box service that costs $25 a month. You will receive 4 or more specially curated, natural, organic items to your doorstep for you to enjoy. Kloverbox sends products from all categories, including beauty, lifestyle, food, health, and products that you can use around the home. I especially love that they helps subscribers incorporate healthier, more natural products into everyday life. 

How it Works:

Kloverbox offers a 1-month, 3-month, and 6-month subscription, and the longer the subscription, the more of a discount you get!

 A monthly subscription costs $25 per box.

 A 3-month subscription costs $71.25, or $23.75 per box.

 A 6-month subscription costs $135, or $22 per box.

Both the 1-month and 3-month subscriptions auto renew; however, the 6-month sub is a one-time purchase, meaning you will not be billed automatically once the 6-month period is over. Kloverbox also offers coupons inside every box so if you really adore something you receive, you'll be able to get it at a discount! 

July's theme was "Cause for Celebration!" since this month Kloverbox turned 1! Congrats, you guys are seriously amazing! Your curators all need a raise.   

First impression! 

 Ellison's Organics 3-Free Nail Lacquer in Kaptivating Koral ($12) 

 This was a color that was made exclusively for Kloverbox!  I didn't think I was going to like this color at first. I'm usually not a huge fan of corals/oranges, but this polish is on a whole 'nother level. Although it appears to be a matte orange (my iPhone can only pick up so much - details on the new camera I'm getting later) it's incredible nuanced and is honestly one of the most beautiful coral colors I've ever owned. 

The color reminds me of fresh, juicy nectarines.  In darker/indoor light, it takes on a deeper, burnt sienna shade. I honestly love it, and it goes on so smooth and dries quickly as well! The customer service over at their shop is amazing, too.

 Praerie Botanicals Tonka Body Balm ($20) 

Mmmm. This has a subtle, spicy vanilla scent to it that I just love; it has to be my favorite product in the box. The Tonka Body Balm is made from virgin coconut oils, pure plant butters, and Brazilian tonka bean oil, which helps to brighten the skin while evening skin tone and reducing age spots. This balm is extremely moisturizing! I want to apply it all over but since it's such a small jar I'll probably save it for my elbows and other rough spots.  This is a thin balm that melts into an oil when it comes into contact with body heat.

 Previse Skincare SunSheer SPF 30 Sunscreen Moisturizer ($36) 

Seeing that $36 price tag and going through reviews online tells me that this is fancy stuff. I've never used any Previse products before, but this is a moisturizing sunscreen that feels very luxurious. It's made with antioxidant ingredients and licorice root extract, and helps to fight age spots and wrinkles while protecting against UVA and UVB rays. Zinc and titanium dioxide are the active ingredients, which sometimes leave a white cast, but I find that this time it doesn't. 

The heat really separated it, so giving it a good shake is necessary before applying. This sunscreen has a lighter consistency than most sunscreens because of its dual function as a moisturizer, but it still feels a bit too heavy for my oily skin. Plus, I prefer my sunscreens to be SPF50+/PA++++, so I'll just save this to use on my neck and shoulders.  This does have some potential acne triggers, so be aware of that if you have sensitive skin.  Flutterfly Scrubs Emulsified Sugar Scrub in 'Creamcicle" ($8.95) 

Another product that I was excited over was this sugar scrub from Flutterfly Scrubs! You can receive a variety of scents, including French Vanilla Pear, Mango Slice, Coconut Cream, Citrusy, Cherry Bomb, or Creamcicle, which is the one I received. This scrub smells absolutely delicious - just like orange creamcicle! I think I lucked out and got one of the better scents.  All of the ingredients in this delectable little scrub are vegan, so they're 100% safe to use on the face/body! I'm not too fond of using scrubs on my face as I have other ways that I exfoliate, but I have no problem using this on the rest of my body! Mmmm. So good.

 Final Verdict 

July's Kloverbox cost me $25 and has a total combined value of $76.95! That is so awesome for a box that only came with 4 items! Kloverbox never ceases to amaze me. I think I'll stay subscribed forever! In all seriousness though, I love that Kloverbox is continuously introducing me to smaller, private businesses that deal in natural and organic products! They generally feature an Etsy shop in every box, and since Etsy is such a huge place, I never know where to start looking for interesting new shops. Luckily, I no longer have that problem!  I already have the sugar scrub in my shower waiting to be used, and I like the Tonka body balm so much, I might just repurchase when it's gone! The nail lacquer is so pretty and nuanced; I'm so happy that I'm getting more adventurous nail polish colors. Not to mention the Previse sunscreen is worth more than the box itself!
