GlassesShop.com Review

So this definitely isn't a beauty related post, but I wanted to take a moment to talk a little bit about my experience with GlassesShop.com. I have (perhaps unfortunately) had to wear glasses for most of my life (starting in the third-grade; four-eyes was my middle name!) and my eyesight is generally - pretty horrible\. I can't see five feet in front of me without glasses, and while I've considered lasik, I love the look and versatility of glasses, so choosing glasses is a very important, weighted process for me. I have a face that's wider near my temples than my chin, so shopping for glasses online is just never a thing I even considered - I usually have a hard time finding frames wide enough for my face at Visionworks, so I assumed glasses shopping online would be a nightmare. So when GlassesShop.com reached out to me and offered to send me a pair for review, I was understandable hesitant, but I haven't gotten new glasses in almost 4 years, so I decided to jump in head first and just see what happens.

Normally, glasses buying is a serious venture for me. I can't just waltz into a Visionworks or browse a website online and place an order right then and there; I have to thoroughly research them first, make sure they're the style and material that I need, and try them on to make sure they fit my head, since most glasses don't.

Luckily, ordering online with GlassesShop.com was incredibly easy! I simply chose a pair of glasses (I decided to go with the Virgo Wayfarer in Burgundy), put in my prescription information (including pupillary distance), and voila! For new customers, you can get a pair of glasses for free as well, but only up to 1.50 prescription strength. If you're like me and nearly blind, you can use the code GSHOT50 and get 50% off single vision lenses (sales frames excluded), as well as a free anti-scratch coating and free protective case and microfiber cloth.

If you are like me and can't live without glasses, you know how expensive they can be, even with insurance (and lets be honest, most insurance only covers the boring wire frames anyway). I'm very happy with my experience with GlassesShop.com, and very impressed with their vast selection of on-trend frames and reasonable prices (my frames are only $29.95 right now!). It took me at least 45 minutes of careful browsing to find a style I liked that would fit my face shape, but I'm glad I took my time! These fit my face perfectly, and the prescription is exact. GlassesShop claims that their frames are doctor's quality, and I can definitely agree that they're on par with the frames I've seen at Visionworks. They came shipped in a sturdy plastic container, and included was a clean microfiber cloth for cleaning the lenses.

As you can see, my face is definitely wider near my temples then my chin area (my face is sort of heart-shaped), so you can imagine how relieved I felt when they fit my face well! The frames are definitely sturdy and stay put (meaning they don't slide down the bridge of my nose like many plastic frames do) since they're made from acetate instead of regular run-of-the-mill plastic. I always recommend acetate frames over plastic ones - they're more durable, and less likely to become discolored or faded over time. One thing I did notice about these frames is that they get smudged a lot quicker/easier than my old pair - I don't know if it's because of the protective coating on the lenses, or if my last pair the lenses were made of higher grade material because they were designer frames, but it's definitely something to consider.

Overall, I've very happy with my experience with GlassesShop.com, and I love the fact that there is such a wide variety of fashionable frames to choose from at prices that won't break the bank. As someone who loves to have a ton of different frames to mix and match with different outfits, GlassesShop.com is a great choice when it comes to quality and affordability. Plus, it's nice to have options to shop around for eyeglasses online and find the best price. Even if you aren't happy with your frames (for whatever reason), GlassesShop.com has a 90 day money back guarantee, so it's really low risk, high reward to try them out! I will definitely be ordering more cute frames from them in the near future.
