New K-beauty Subscription Box: Pink Seoul Box Review March/April 2016

A new K-beauty box is out on the market! I was kindly sent this box for review purposes from the lovely ladies over at Pink Seoul, and I have to say, I'm pretty impressed by what's inside!

Pink Seoul offers 3 different types of fully customized boxes with FULL SIZED products that are great for everyone, whether you're new to the world of K-beauty or have been dabbling for a while.

The Pink Seoul Box costs $39.95 every 2 months, and the Pink Seoul Plus Box (recommended for ages 35+) costs $49.95 every 2 months. Pink Seoul also offers a mask box (which I'm totally interested in!) for $29.95 monthly. Although the cost is a bit pricier than some of the other K-beauty subs on the market, Pink Seoul more than makes up for that with quality and amazing curation that I haven't seen in any other K-beauty boxes so far. Plus, did I mention full sized products? Pink Seoul also ships worldwide, with free shipping to the US! You can use the code Friends10 for 10% off your first box.

Before sending a box my way, Pink Seoul got in touch with me to ask me some questions about my skin in order to send me the products that will work best for me. I specified that I have combination skin with redness/sensitivity and congestion as my main skin concerns.

Can we talk about how thoroughly detailed this info card is?! And yes, I read that whole thing, front and back. Fight me about it.

The March/April 2016 Pink Seoul Box is valued at $117, and Pink Seoul promises a value of $80+ for every one of their boxes. Let's have a look inside!

Mizon Black Snail All-in-One Cream (Full Size: $53.95) - This hydrating cream contains 90% black snail mucus filtrate, 20+ black plant extracts, adenosine, peptide, and vitamins. I'm very familiar with the original Mizon Snail AIO cream, and I have to say, I'm excited about all the yummy peptides and plant ingredients in this updated version! It promises anti-aging and skin-repairing properties, and is light, stringy, and very moisturizing. I'm not much of a fan of the scent (it's unscented, but smells a bit stale/heavy to me, for some reason), but it leaves my skin feeling silky smooth and nicely plump/hydrated. All subscribers received this product in their boxes this month.

Skinfood Black Sugar Wash Off Masks (Full Size; $13.95) -  A nice scrubby wash-off mask that contains mineral-enriched Brazilian black sugar that appeared in every subbie's box this month. It's self-heating to help remove whiteheads and stubborn blackheads. It's a bit coarse for my sensitive skin, but it does exfoliate nicely and it emulsifies to wash away clean. I normally use this as a body scrub, and it works beautifully on feet too!

VerySix 6 Seconds Lip Gloss in Coral (Full Size; $11.95) - A smooth, creamy lip gloss that contains royal jelly, jojoba seed oil, argan oil, and propolis. I can see why they included this in every box - it's flattering for all skin tones! It's very subtle and not sticky at all, which I love. My lips aren't very pigmented, so this showed up very bright on me. Good thing I like coral.

Missha 3D Mascara (Full Size; $6) - Great basic mascara for everyday use. According to Pink Seoul, it has a triangular brush that helps with adding length and curl. I haven't opened this yet since I have quite a few tubes of mascara to get through. This also appeared in every March/April box.

Sheet Masks (4; varied) - This month's Pink Seoul box came with 4 full size sheet masks! Included is a Black Pearl Renew Black Ampoule mask from SNP, a Wrinkle-Tox mask from Leaders, a Tea Tree Care Solution mask from Mediheal, and and Aloe mask from Nature Republic. These are all fantastic for those with combination-sensitive skin, and they're pretty solid, tried-and-true brands.

Nature Republic Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel (Full Size; $8) - A soothing multi-purpose gel made with 92% aloe vera to promote healthier skin and hydration. I squealed when I saw this in my box, because my tub was running scarily low and I use this stuff for EVERYTHANG. Now I don't have to purchase a backup, woo!  This little miracle gel has so many uses; you can use it as a face/body moisturizer, after shaving to soothe nicks and prevent ingrown hairs, as a hair treatment, you can leave it on as a face mask... the possibilities are endless.

Also included were a few cute little sample packets. I already own the full size of the Tony Moly Tomatox and the Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence, but I'm exciting to try out the Missha Sun Milk. I'm pretty vanilla when it comes to my SPF, and tend to not stray from what I know works for my skin, but I'm trying to branch out a little and try some new sunscreens. This is the perfect chance to do it! Also included was a little spatula so that you don't have to stick your hands into the jars. I have a bunch of spatulas already, but it was a considerate move on Pink Seoul's part.

Also, k-beauty headband. So floofy. So cute. I'm totally using this like, always.

Final Thoughts

I'm pretty impressed by my Pink Seoul Plus box, more than I thought I would be! Sure, I was excited because *k-beauty*, but I didn't expect 5 full sized products, plus masks, plus samples, plus an accessory. Hot damn! I'm loving how detail-oriented Pink Seoul was with this box; the inclusion of the headband and the little spatula was so thoughtful and really tied the box together. Although I've tried many of these products already, I think the products provided would really appeal to a wide range of subscribers, be them k-beauty noobs or seasoned k-fanatics. I'm hoping that in the future I'll see some more product variety, but for someone who is new to the k-beauty world, this box is pretty solid! Plus, I'm not picky. K-beauty is k-beauty, s'all good to me!

Price wise, I can get many of these products straight from Korea for less (that aloe gel is a $3 staple in my house), but the price balances out well when you consider the quick, free shipping, the size and quality of the products, and the curation and detail put into the boxes themselves. I can't wait to watch Pink Seoul grow as a company, and see what direction they go in the future!
