Kloverbox October 2015 Review and Unboxing

The October Kloverbox arrived super late this month, but I'm so glad it's finally here! Kloverbox is one one my favorite subscriptions, and although it tends to be one of the last sub boxes that I receive throughout the month, it's never the least when it comes to exciting, quality items that are organic, sustainable, eco-friendly, and organic! Trying to incorporate more organic products into my life hasn't been he easiest feat, but Kloverbox sure makes it easier!

 What is Kloverbox?
Kloverbox is an all natural, eco-friendly subscription box service that costs $25 a month. You will receive 4 or more specially curated, natural, organic items to your doorstep for you to enjoy. Kloverbox sends products from all categories, including beauty, lifestyle, food, health, and products that you can use around the home. I especially love that they help subscribers incorporate healthier, more natural products into everyday life. image

 How it Works
Kloverbox offers a 1-month, 3-month, and 6-month subscription, and the longer the subscription, the more of a discount you get!

FC2無料カウンター A monthly subscription costs $25 per box.
FC2無料カウンター A 3-month subscription costs $71.25, or $23.75 per box.
FC2無料カウンター A 6-month subscription costs $135, or $22 per box.
FC2無料カウンター Shipping is free!

Both the monthly and 3-month subscriptions auto renew; however, the 6-month subscription is a one-time purchase, meaning you will not be billed automatically once the 6 month period is over. Kloverbox also offers coupons inside every box so if you really adore something you receive, you'll be able to get it at a discount!

The theme for October's box is "A pinch of patience, a dash of kindness, a spoonful of laughter and a heap of love!"image

Foxy & Winston Organic Kitchen Towel ($16) - Ahhh, this is so cute! This is a typical kitchen towel, although a really pretty one! There are four different designs that you can receive, and I got this white one with cute little green artichokes. I think there is one with purple artichokes, and two others, one of which includes elephants! I'm excited to get lifestyle/home items, because I'm moving soon and thus trying to collect things that I need for my apartment, so this will definitely be put to good use. I just kind of wish they had sent two matching ones! I might just use the coupon code they provided this month to snag some more!

"This lovely organic hand printed towel is from the textile artist Jane Buck. Jane named her brand after her parents and takes inspiration from "a love of animals and nature, with a spot of humour thrown in for good measure". Foxy & Winston creates playful and vibrant designs on stationary and textiles using screen printing (water based non-toxic ink) and letterpress techniques. You can find her charming boutique and studio in Red Hook, Brooklyn. 100% GOTS Certified Organic cotton canvas - machine wash and tumble dry on low."

Red Flower Hand & Face Towelettes ($1.50) - These are moisturizing towelettes for hands and face. These seem perfect for on-the-go! I usually won't go anywhere without a bottle of hand sanitizer, so these will be going directly into my bag for the days when my skin feels like it needs a quick pick-me-up. While these seem nice enough, what even is "Wanderlust" supposed to smell like? I kind of want to open it right now just to find out!

"Perfect for travel and everyday on-the-go, the revitalizing hand and face towelette is a deeply cleansing daily essential that invigorates, brightens, and replenishes skin. All you need is a quick swipe to enliven the spirit and purify and tone the skin naturally. The Italian blood orange towelette uses anti-bacterial soft fiber cloths with while essential oils of pink grapefruit essential oil, blood orange essential oil, and orange blossom to cleanse, moisturize, and awaken the senses. While the wanderlust towelette uses the whole essential oils of hinoki cypress wood, garjun balsam resin, vetivert grass, red cedarwood atlas, mandarin rind, and cistus rockrose oil to moisturize and stimulate the senses."

Bee's Wrap Sandwich Wrap in Clover Print ($10) - This is so pretty, and the little button with the bee engraved on it is so adorable! This is a sandwich wrap that's made with jojoba oil and bees wax to keep your sandwiches or veggies fresh. I love this item specifically because it uses less plastic. I try to recycle almost everything that I can (getting so many boxes in the mail sometimes leaves me feeling a little guilty), so I appreciate that Kloverbox sent this so I can use it as an alternative to plastic tupperware to carry my sandwiches/snacks on the go. Since it's also reusable, I can see myself getting a lot of use out of this! The button and string really help keep everything sealed and fresh. It had a pretty strong beeswax/jojoba scent to it upon opening, but I suspect that will go away with washing.

"Handmade in Vermont, Bee's Wrap is the sustainable, natural alternative to plastic wrap for food storage. This sustainable sandwich wrap is perfect for grownups and kids! Wrap your sandwich for lunch on-the-go. Build your sandwich, fold in corners, and wrap string around the wooden bee button. Wash your Bee's Wrap in COOL water with a mild dish soap if needed. Do not subject to heat! Air dry, fold, and store in a drawer or in a basket on the counter. The bees wax and jojoba oil have anti-bacterial qualities that help to keep your food fresh and allow you to use the Bee's Wrap again and again. Bee's Wrap lasts for up to a year with proper care and regular usage."

Goodie Girl Quinoa Chocolate Chip Cookies ($1) - These are cookies made from quinoa (keen-wa) and are made with real chocolate chips. They're also gluten free. These were so, so good but were gone so fast. I need to get more, obviously. I think I might actually use the coupon code to buy more of these as well!

"Just the right amount of wrong. A mom, native New Yorker, and founder of Goodie Girl Cookies began her quest in 2010 to create an all-natural, super delicious line of cookies that are amazingly gluten-free. Goodie Girl Cookies have been a staple on my grocery list for months and I thought it was time to share these goodies with you; I hope you enjoy them as much as we do!"

 Final Verdict
October's Kloverbox cost me $25 and had a total combined value of $28.50. I always love getting my Kloverbox in the mail, and a big part of the reason why that is is due to the expert curation and the detail that goes into each and every box. That being said, I'm a little disappointed that the past couple of months have been so... light, for lack of a better word. There have been a lot of one-use items and the value of the boxes has been lower lately. EDIT: Last month's box had a value of about $80, so this is really the first month that Kloverbox has dipped in value. So "lately" was a misleading word to use, and shouldn't reflect badly on Kloverbox! And technically, while not full size, the items sent out last month still did have a few uses in them, and can't accurately be considered one-time-use. Regardless of that fact, I've been using and enjoying all of the products that I've been receiving, and ultimately that it was makes a subscription box worth it for me. I would rather be subscribed to a subscription box service that was honest about its prices and tried really hard to curate wonderful boxes, than to receive a box that's disorganized or thrown together with a hugely inflated value (looking at you, Beauteque). Even though one of the companies that Kloverbox was working with this month had to back out last second, Kloverbox still managed to pull everything together nicely and send out a fun box that fit the theme well. And for that, I can't be to disappointed!

If you'd like to sign up for a Kloverbox subscription, you can do so OVER HERE. Since it's a bit into November already, I believe you'll be starting with the December box.
