Beauteque BB Bag September 2015 Review and Unboxing!

The September Beauteque BB Bag showed up super late this month, I almost forgot about it when I found it on my doorstep unexpectedly! I'm very happy that it did show up though, because I generally love getting my BB Bag every month!

The theme for September's bag was "Soothing Spa", and inside there can be found a bunch of spa-related skincare items for the days when you need to add a little extra somethin' to your routine. Lately, I've been super busy and stress has definitely been making my skin look a bit lack luster, so I'm glad this bag came when it did!

What is Beauteque?
Beauteque Monthly is a monthly subscription service curated by the US-based Korean beauty website Beauteque. Every month, Beauteque sends out what is known as their BB Bag (Beauteque Beauty Bag) filled with super fun products from Korean, Japan, Taiwan, Europe, and the US! Beauteque is the perfect subscription service for anyone new to the world of Asian beauty, as you get to try out tons of different products that you may not have come across before.

How it works:
Beauteque has optiond for either a 1-month, 3-month, 6-month, or 1-year subscription.
image A monthly subscription costs $24 per month.
image A 3-month subscription costs $24 per month.

image A 1-year subscription costs $22 per month.

All subscriptions are prepaid, and will auto-renew at the end of the cycle so that you won't ever miss out on a bag, in case you have a terrible memory like me. image

The great thing about Beauteque is that there is an option to customize your items! Beauteque routinely sends out emails to their subscribers on the 1st of every month, and you have until the 5th to choose your preference, or they will choose for you (For example, lipstick/eyeshadow color, toner type, body wash scent, etc.).

In every BB Bag you can expect to receive 7 or more full-sized  products ranging anywhere from lifestyle and jewelry to makeup and skincare. The bags are anywhere from $65-$85 in value, so you can expect to get your money's worth! You also have the option of gifting subscriptions, if you want to share the love with a friend or family member.

Shipping Costs:
Beauteque ships to the US, Canada, and Europe.
US shipping is $3.95 per month.
Canada shipping is $5.95 per month.
Europe shipping is $8.95 per month.

I didn't receive an info card with my bag this month, so I guess I'll have to wing it with these product descriptions!

The Saem Mint Jungle Foot Cream ($12)

I only own a concealer from The Saem, so I don't have a lot of experience with them as a brand. However, they seem to have a pretty sizeable following, so I'm guessing they aren't half bad! This is a foot cream, which I'm pretty happy about since feet are often a neglected area for a lot of people, and I don't usually see a lot of foot care items in subscription boxes. This one has a light minty scent that's really pleasant. It contains a lot of yummy ingredients such as spearmint, apple mint, honey, and peppermint extracts that help revitalize tired feet and give them a boost of moisture and hydration. I'm excited to start using this!

Aritaum: Aloe No Wash Cleansing Water ($22)

I'm unfortunately not a huge fan of cleansing waters, but for my own personal reasons. I just think that there's no better substitute for cleansing the face than good old-fashioned face wash and water, especially for someone who's prone to clogged pores like I am. However, I've been trying to open myself up more to the idea, since I like to get my makeup off ASAP at the end of the day, and using a cleansing water and a cotton pad would be the quickest way to do this. Many people say that products like these can take the place of an oil cleanser, but I just... idk. How do you clean something without washing away the remnants of it? That's like putting hand sanitizer on dirty hands and trying to claim that they're "clean". Maybe something in the cleansing water absorbs dirt/sebum, but then where does it go? Does it just sit on the skin? Evaporate into thin air? I need answers! Until I get them, this seems like a nice way to get makeup off as soon as you walk through the door, or for days when you're just too exhausted to do a proper cleansing (which should be never, but let's be realistic here), but this seems like an unnecessary step to me and something I probably won't delve into too deeply.

Aqua Gems Herbal Soothing Cream ($18???)

I hope Beauteque means $18 for a full sized tube of this stuff, because this is almost sample sized and can NO WAY be worth $18. I'm sorry, but no. This is supposed to be something like a multi-purpose lotion that brightens, moisturizes, and repairs the skin. Apparently, it contains chamomile and licorice extracts, witch hazel, and menthol, and I love licorice extract for it's brightening effects, so I'm a little intrigued. I just really hope I don't start loving this stuff, because that price tag, what even.

Secret Key Secret Kiss Holic Pigment Glitter ($8)

Although this seems a little out of place with the "spa" theme, Beauteque also included this little pot of glitter eye shadow in what looks to be a kind of purple-y gold color. It's a really fine and creamy texture, but a bit of a pain to get out of the container. Maybe I'll incorporate it into my Halloween makeup this year. image

For some reason. I accidentally deleted the photo I had of the modeling mask and bowl, but as you can see in the first photo, a cute little blue bowl and spatula was included, along with an Inner Kallia Arbutin Modeling Mask. Modeling masks are super popular these days it seems, and I have a few sitting around in my room, so I think I'll start using them up soon, especially since I seem to keep getting more! I've just been so lazy lately, and admittedly I have no idea how to mix these things to get the oft sought after "perfect consistency"; apparently, there's a lot of trial and error involved. Since Sundays are usually my "sheet mask and chill" days, (heh) I'm thinking I'll try my hand at one tomorrow!

The September BB Bag cost me a total of $24 plus shipping, and has an overall combined value of $71. Although the prices seem to be a bit inflated (that lotion, though), this bag seems to be well worth what I paid for it. Aside from the glitter shadow which is cool but not very spa-y, I think all of the products tied in with them theme well and definitely made me feel like I could create a lil' spa in my own home. I'm super excited to try out the Arbutin modeling mask!

What did you think of the September BB Bag?
