FabFitFun Summer 2015 Review & Unboxing!

Hi there! I've been home sick for the past few days (I've been getting sick a lot lately) so I'm going to use this time to do another review! Plus, it will give me something to focus on aside from my sore throat and achy body, and the growing pile of work that I have to do for my online classes.  Anyway! FabFitFun is a box filled with an amazing amount of stuff centered around beauty and a healthy lifestyle. Mine took so long to arrive, but I was so excited when it did. The box that I received is the Summer box, and it has a value of about $275! This is going to be a slightly longer review, because my FFF box is chock-full of so many goodies. image

What is FabFitFun?
FabFitFun is a quarterly subscription that costs $50 per box. The boxes are usually geared toward the seasons, so every three months, customers will receive a box for Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. Every box is guaranteed to contain over $200 worth of stuff!

So this is what my FabFitFun box looked like at first glance. Everything is packaged neatly with tissue paper and included was a huge info card that explains everything you need to know about the awesome products inside!

So much tissue paper! Everything was packaged so nicely~

Wren 14Kt Gold and Black Sapphire Necklace ($100)

FabFitFun is a subscription box that occasionally includes jewelry in addition to their healthy lifestyle and beauty products. I received the rose gold heart shaped necklace, and I believe you can receive either a horseshoe or a crescent moon as well. I unfortunately got the one I wanted the least, I've never been a fan of heart jewelry for some reason. But it definitely is cute, and it's so tiny and dainty. For some reason, I hate the feeling of chunky jewelry, and a lot of metals make me itchy, so I can't wear fake jewelry.  Image of emoticons ('◉  But this is real gold, so I can get away with it (I think). I do wish I had gotten the moon one, though! And that price tag... $100?! Yeah, sure. It also came with a knot in the chain which was really hard to get out.

What FabFitFun says:
"Allow us to charm you! Dainty necklaces are the perfect addition to your everyday summer outfit, and these Wren 14kt gold dipped pieces are uh-dorable. Whether you luck out with the horseshoe, fall in love with the heart, or are starry-eyed for the moon, you're going to be ub-sessed with these pendants, each featuring a black sapphire."

The Everyday Wireless Speaker by FabFitFun ($30)

This is pretty cool. It's a speaker that can connect wirelessly to your smartphone, or play FM radio, and it has a little clip so that you can attach this to your belt like a nerd. Just kidding, but it is portable so you can take it with you when you're exercising, or if you're somewhere like at the beach or on a picnic or something and you want to get some music going. Deco-mail pictograms of shit It's not like this is some crazy high-tech piece of equipment, but it works really well for being a portable speaker. Maybe I'll use this for when I go jogging with my boyfriend, but playing my music without headphones in is anxiety-inducing for me so I don't know yet. Deco-mail pictograms characters (/ / / É / / /) ♪ You can either receive this teal speaker, or a pink one.

What FabFitFun says:
"A perfectly portable, wireless speaker to play all of our summer jams on? Sounds like music to our ears! We're super excited to announce that the FabFitFun team has created our dream speaker with wireless pairing up to 30 feet, a latch for on-the-go sound, an FM radio, and even a hands free speaker phone."

Vaseline Intensive Care Aloe Soothe Spray Moisturizer ($8)

Yay! This is one of the items that I was really looking forward to getting. I think I was more excited about this than the necklace. I don't know, I'm weird. Deco-mail pictograms characters (/ / / É / / /) ♪ This is a non-greasy spray moisturizer with micro-droplets of Vaseline. It goes on so light and leaves your skin feeling cool and refreshed. This item was sponsored by FabFitFun, so it was a freebie that was thrown it. I don't know about you, but I love me some full-sized freebies. Cute emoticons デコメ

What FabFitFun says:
"When it comes to cooling lotion, this one is... well, seriously cool! This spray on formula moisturizes and absorbs in seconds to help heal out dry skin, especially after a day in the sun. The non-greasy solution leaves our skin feeling silky soft instantly, and is our go-to this summer."

Inkling Scents Sultry Roll-On Oil Perfume ($25)

So I know that a lot of people don't like roll-on oil based perfumes. I, however, don't have a problem with them so I was glad I got this! This has hints of sandalwood, amber, orchid, vanilla, lotus flower, and rose. This scent is definitely sultry, so the name hit the mark. I didn't know how I felt about this scent at first, but I think I kind of like it. It isn't something I'm used to wearing, but then again, I usually wear body mists and perfumes from Bath and Body Works or Victoria's Secret, so I'm obviously no perfume connoisseur. Cute emoticons デコメ  I think I'll keep it in my purse so I can reapply it throughout the day without suffocating everyone around me.

What FabFitFun says:
"We've got an inkling you're gonna love this roll-on perfume! Perfect for travel, this 1/3 ounce bottle of healthy, alcohol-free, pure oil fragrance is one of our faves. Sultry is a blend of creamy sandalwood, white amber, lotus flower, orchid, Bulgarian rose, and silky vanilla that you'll want on you wherever you go. (And if you like Sultry, you're sure to love Inkling's 20+ fragrance options!) Use code FFF15, which will get you 15% off your total purchase at www.inklingscents.com"

 Headspace 3-Month Subscription ($38.85) &
Scratch Limited Edition Nail Wraps ($12)

Included was a card with a code for free a free 3-month subscription of Headspace, which is a "gym for the mind" that provides guided meditation sessions and mindfulness training. Honestly, I have been struggling with the concept of meditation for so long. I would love to be one of those super-chill people who meditates, but I suffer from a generalized anxiety disorder, so it's really difficult for me to "focus on nothing" for as long as it takes to successfully meditate. Today is New! Emoticons デコメ of (b ^ ー °) Maybe this will help me out a little. You can access sessions both online and through mobile, and they also offer a free 10-day session to start, so even if you don't get this box you can still try out their service for free! Deco-mail pictograms of Pikachu

What FabFitFun says:
"If you've been running around and the world is spinning a little too fast, maybe you just need some space. Headspace, that is. This app takes you through a series of life-changing, guided meditations when you want, wherever you are. It's a must have for A-list celebs like Gwyneth Paltrow, Emma Watson, and now YOU. Just a quick sesh at your desk can change your mindset and make your day!"

I also received a set of Scratch Nail Wraps. I will be the first to admit that I have no idea how to use these, and they're also kind of ugly, so I wouldn't pay $12 for these if I saw them in a store. But maybe I'll play around with them and learn how to use them, so that I have that in my arsenal of nail-related skills for when a cuter pack of these comes along~ image

What FabFitFun says:
"That's a wrap! Time to toss your old nail polish and start from Scratch! Scratch collaborates with artists to make unique nail wrap designs screenprinted on a thin adhesive. Made with 5-free polish inks, these babies last like real nail polish and are sure to help you nail your mani these season."

FabFitFun also slipped in a card with an advert for Giuliana Rancic's new book titled "Going Off Script" where she talks about surviving a crazy childhood, cancer, and something about getting rejected a lot in her career? Apparently it's sort of an autobiography. Giuliana is the brainchild behind FabFitFun, and she is the one who curates the items in the FFF boxes.

Gorge "I'll Make You Look Amazing" Daily Spray ($25)

I really love this spray! This is a leave-in-conditioner that has a whole laundry list of benefits for your hair. It claims to:
FC2無料カウンター Help repair damaged hair
FC2無料カウンター Instantly add shine
FC2無料カウンター Detangle your hair
FC2無料カウンター Protect it from the heat
FC2無料カウンター Seal and protect color
FC2無料カウンター Prevent split ends
FC2無料カウンター Stop breakage
FC2無料カウンター Enhance body
FC2無料カウンター Help with flat ironing
FC2無料カウンター Make hair smooth and silky.
Whew. Okay then. I haven't used it long enough to test its repairing properties, but it does make my hair soft as heck, and it helps it look fuller and thicker. Plus it smells amazing I prefer sprays to oils or pomades because my hair products tend to weigh my hair down easily. This spray did help a lot with frizziness, which is my main concern after oil control, so that in and of itself is worth using this until the very last drop.

What FabFitFun says:
"If your hair is dry, overprocessed, coarse, frizzy, or just calling out a major SOS, we're here to throw you a lifesaver! Gorge created the perfect leave in conditioner that leaves no residue behind, and is the essential addition to all daily hair care regimens. Formulated to penetrate the hair shaft, restore moisture, and repair ALL damage, this spray is your hair's own personal lifeguard this summer."

 Tarte LipSurgence Lip Gloss ($19)

*Silent tears forever* I love Tarte. They're one of my favorite makeup brands, and I want all the things from Tarte. But I haaaate lip gloss. It's just so sticky and shimmery and gross. Why wear something that glues your mouth closed when you can wear a lip stain or lip stick that has the same moisturizing effects with even better color payoff?! I don't get who invented sticky lip gloss, but they suck.  In any case, I received Tarte's LipSurgence lip gloss in "Natural Beauty", and it's okay. The formula is good for a lip gloss, it's not too sticky and it doesn't get all over the place when you apply it. It does tingle a little, though. I don't like that it has gold shimmer, or the fact that, y'know, it's a lip gloss. Come on FFF, you're killing me here. image

This is what the lip gloss looks like on. I didn't notice any plumping effects to be honest, but it did make my lips look shiny and healthy. It was pretty drying as it wore off, though.

What FabFitFun says:
"Move over Kylie and Angelina, we're plumping up our pucker the all-natural way. This hybrid addition to tarte's signature LipSurgence line gives gorge color to your kisser while drenching lips in moisture and mega-watt, non-sticky shine. Infused with Vitamin E, jojoba seed oil, and flower extract, your lips will thank you for treating them to this tarte gloss."

FabFitFun x Cosmobody Jump Rope ($14)

Personally, I wish I could have gotten some little ten pound weights or something (although shipping costs would have been outrageous, so never mind I guess) but jump ropes are fun too. I haven't actually jumped rope since... my high school PE class? But it does burn a lot of calories which makes for a pretty good work out so I'll try it again! image

What FabFitFun says:
"FFF will make ya - jump jump! Did you know that you can burn around 150 calories in a ten minute session of jumping rope?! We've partnered with CosmoBody, the amazing new workout site from Cosmopolitan Magazine, to bring you the perfect jump rope paired with workout videos you can find at fabfitfun.com/jumprope. So skip the treadmill and start skipping rope!"

 Hello Konjac Cleansing Sponge ($12)

Konjac sponges are old hat for those who are deep into Asian beauty, but for those who aren't or who are just getting started, konjac sponges are cleansing sponges made of konjac fibers, which come from a porous root vegetable. They feel really hard when dry, but when wet they grow 1.5 times their size and become squishy and jelly like. image They really good for gentle exfoliation, and I use them daily so I was happy to get another one in this box! You can find them online for way cheaper than $12 on ebay, though. Also, this sponge claims to be able to balance your skin's pH, that simply isn't the case; it won't have any effect on pH.

What FabFitFun says:
"Keep your skin soft and glowing with a secret remedy from Korea! The Konjac sponge has been used by Korean women to gently exfoliate and thoroughly cleanse pores. Made from konjac vegetable fibers, the pillow-soft sponge is an all natural way to restore the skin and balance your face's pH level."

 Final Verdict
So far, I'm really loving FabFitFun boxes. They remind me a lot of the PopSugar Must Have boxes, so they're great if you want to get something like PopSugar, but still want to save money, since FFF boxes only come 4 times a year. I paid $40 for my FabFitFun box (I used a coupon code for $10 off), and it has an overall combined value of $275! For my first time receiving a FabFitFun box, I really enjoyed everything that was in it. Except maybe the lip gloss. I wish I had received a different tarte product, but it's more of a minor inconvenience than a serious issue. image I wound up really loving the perfume, though! This box really does focus on a lot of aspects of a healthy lifestyle, but it's also geared toward beauty and lifestyle which I really like!

If you want to sign up for FabFitFun, you can do that OVER HERE. You can use the code SAVE10 to get $10 your first box, or if you want, you can use the code JULY4 to get a free FabFitFun water infuser bottle and a free tube of Purlisse moisturizer. If you sign up now, you'll receive the same box I did, but the color of the speaker may vary (you'll get either teal or pink) and you can either receive a gold or a rose gold necklace in a heart, horseshoe, or crescent moon shape. There are also variations to the color of the lip gloss I believe, though I'm not entirely sure. image
